To celebrate 10 years of citizen journalism in Brattleboro, MuseArts re-designed the pioneering web site iBrattleboro.com to be more useful, better looking, and easier to use for the thousands of people using the site each day.
Our goal was to take everything that we liked about the older site and make it better. We added features site users had requested (classifieds), plus other features we thought would enhance their use of the site (ability to edit stories.)
To do so required months of customization of an open source content management system capable of handling thousands of registered users and all of their contributions of stories, comments, photos, and more. We archived the first 10 years of the site, and handled the smooth, live transition of all site users.
New features include local classified ads, groups, local skills cloud, expanded profiles, image galleries, ranked voting polls, social media sharing, This Day in History, and more.
